Carefree Fresh Start

Do you ever feel like you need a fresh start? I think all of us at one time or another have felt that way. The top three winners will receive $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000 respectively, as well as a personal consultation from Ariane and a three-day/two-night trip to New York City to be honored at the CAREFREE® Fresh Start celebration event in partnership with Step Up Women’s Network, the national, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls. All other finalists will receive $1,000 to help begin making their fresh start. The deadline for submissions is July 10, 2009

I love this time of year when I can sit back and watch the tennis at Wimbledon. It has been one of my life long dreams to attend Wimbledon. Maybe one day it will happen. In honor of Wimbledon the Royal Garden Hotel in London is offering a special Wimbledon Tea. I can dream of enjoying a great afternoon tea in Kensington and then going to watch some great tennis on Centre court.

Guitar Hero On Tour Modern Hits.

Thanks to Mom Central my family has gone on Tour with Guitar Hero On Tour. We have multiple DS players so we received both the Modern Hits game and the Decades game to review. Let me tell you from the minute they came out of the box they were a hit. Both my 10 year old and my 6 year old were addicted. They both mastered it very quickly and were soon showing me their skill. Let me tell you their skill did not wear off on me. I am getting better but I have a long way to go before I am a true rocker. One of the great things is that having 2 different games my kids can connect their games and play together and stream songs between players. My 6 year old is not a big fan of dueling but they do have fun playing a song together. My 10 year old finds his friends when it is time to duel. It is always nice to see my kids playing well together. My son was also glad he did not give away his old DS since the Guitar Hero On Tour games do not work with the new DSi.

Time for Tea Tuesday

What do you put in your tea?

People prefer their teas many different ways.  Me I am a milk and sugar girl.  I never thought of adding milk to my tea until I went to Wales and then I discovered that I love milk in my tea, especially black teas.  Most herbal teas I drink without milk because it ruins the flavor and can react with the acid if it is a real fruity tea.  I have learned from experience.  So that leads to the question of when to add your milk.  I always brew my tea in a teapot so I add the milk into my cup before I add by brewed tea. 

My favorite sugar to put in tea is raw sugar or Turbinado sugar.  I love the taste that it adds to my tea.  Since I am watching my sugar intake I often use sweetners.  I have recently been turned on to Stevia which I really like and my brand of choice is Stevia Extract in the Raw.  If you are looking for a more natural sweetner you should give it a try.  So tell me how do you like your tea?

Cheap Summer Movies

It is suppose to be a rainy day here in Michigan tomorrow so that leaves me asking myself what I can do with my kids.  Thank goodness for Goodrich Quality Theaters and  their $1  Summer Kids Movies. For 10 weeks they will have a  new $1 movie  each week.  The movies will show Monday thru Friday at 10:30am.  This week  Coraline is showing  so looks like we will go and see that.  This is a great deal  if you need a cheap outing with your kids this summer.
